HBO Max Closes in on Complete European Rollout
Audiences in Germany, Italy and Austria will be able to subscribe to HBO Max as an add-on to their Prime Video service, after WBD agreed a distribution deal with Amazon
HBO Max has launched in an additional eight European countries, including Italy, Germany, and Austria.
It almost completes the streaming service’s European rollout, with just the UK and Ireland left. HBO Max is due to launch in both territories at the end of March.
Speaking about the streamer’s latest launch, JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros Discovery, said: “It is exciting to kick off the New Year by expanding into some of the biggest economies in the world, as we continue to deliver HBO Max to new viewers.”

The agreement extends the two companies’ existing European collaborations in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium.
