The senior management team at Grass Valley has undergone a major shake-up with both CEO and president Tim Shoulders and Mario Lopez, GM of live production, leaving the company.

Louis Hernandez Jr, CEO of parent company Black Dragon Capital, will now lead the company.

Black Dragon first announced its attention to acquire Grass Valley from Belden Inc in February 2020, at the time Hernandez told TVBEurope, “Black Dragon and Grass Valley management will conduct a thorough strategic portfolio review and determine any required strategic changes at the appropriate time.”

In a statement sent to TVBEurope, Neil Maycock, Grass Valley’s CMO, said: “Grass Valley has recently simplified its organizational structure in order to accelerate the focus on the Company’s GV Media Universe (GVMU) strategy. The changes will enable the company to capitalize on the strong market response to the GVMU and make investments in its award winning product suite.”

“The simpler and clearer organizational structure will include  Michael Hofer (CFO), responsible for finance, general and administration, Jan Lange (CRO), responsible for all client relationships, alliances and partnerships,  Sydney Lovely (CTO), responsible for all product and company technology, and Neil Maycock (CMO) responsible for all product, client delivery and marketing. We thank the outgoing executives for their support in managing the transition from Belden.”

The statement added: “The Grass Valley leadership team will report to Louis Hernandez Jr, executive chairman of GV, and CEO of Black Dragon.”
