More Telcos Sign up for VideTele.com's DTV Platform

VideoTele.com, a division of Tut Systems, is providing digital headends to deliver DTV over the xDSL networks of Spur, Texas-based Cap Rock Telephone Cooperative and Berkeley County, S.C.-based Home Telephone Co.

Both telcos, which will now supply a "triple play" of telephone, Internet and DTV services to their customers, are using VideoTele.com's Astria family of content processors and distribution systems. The Astria content processor takes in analog and digital broadcast video and provides real-time processing and conditioning of audio and video content for DSL network distribution.

Cap Rock Telephone Cooperative's service area offers about 5,000 access lines covering 4,800 square miles of western Texas. It plans to offer more than 120 channels as part of its "CapRock TV" lineup over its ADSL network. Home Telephone Co. is using VideoTele.com's digital headend system to offer digital entertainment services, including DTV, commercial free digital music and pay-per-view, to its 25,000 voice customers.
