FOX Monitors With TANDBERG
By TVTechnology published
New York, NY--FOX will install five SD/HD combination MPEG-2 encoding systems with statistical multiplexing to augment the quantity and quality of its programming throughout the U.S. Once installed, FOX will begin transmitting eight channels (four SD and four HD) within each multiplex over satellite. Each eight-channel encoding system will feature one spare SD and HD encoder for redundancy, and the entire distribution system will be monitored by a TANDBERG Television nCompass system from FOX's Los Angeles headquarters. Fox will deploy TANDBERG Television's E5770 and E5780 encoders, providing compression efficiency and multipass capability in both standard and high definition.
