Kevin Trueblood to Return as SBE President
The society announced results of its annual elections
Kevin Trueblood will return for a second term as president of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
The association announced the results of the 2026 election for its national board of directors.
Trueblood, who holds CBRE and CBNT certifications and is a member of Chapter 90 Southwest Florida, is the 34th person to hold the role of president. (See a list of all SBE presidents.)
A member since 2008, Trueblood also is a former SBE VP, secretary, treasurer and board member. He is the president of KTrue Media Services, which provides technical solutions for broadcast, digital and IT needs and is based in Fort Myers, Fla. He does that contract work in addition to his full-time job as associate general manager for WGCU Public Media.
The newly elected will be sworn in during the SBE National Meeting next month, held in conjunction with the Midwest Regional Broadcasters Clinic in Madison, Wis.
SBE has approximately 4,000 members in 117 chapters in the United States, Hong Kong and Eastern Europe; there are members in more than 25 other countries.
Geary S. Morrill, CPBE, AMD, CBNE, of Chapter 91 Central Michigan, has been reelected vice president, and Shane Toven, CPBE, DRB, CBNE of Chapter 43 Sacramento) was reelected to a third term as SBE secretary.

Those three roles were uncontested in the election.
Charles “Ched” Keiler, CPBE, 8-VSB, ATSC3, CBNE, of Chapter 53 South Florida, was reelected treasurer, running against Greg Dahl.
Six people were elected from among eight candidates to serve two-year terms on the board of directors (asterisks are incumbents who return):

- Dustin Hapli*, CBNE; Chapter 26 Chicago; Chicago, IL
- Joseph Geerling, CPBE, CBNT; Chapter 55 St. Louis; St. Louis, MO

- Tom Ray, CPBE, AMD, DRB; Chapter 15 New York City; New Windsor, NY
- Dustin Tatro, CBRE; Chapter 67 North Texas; Abilene, TX
- Those join six others who are in the middle of two-year board terms.
