The 4Caster from Envivio provides real-time MPEG-4/H.264 encoding for full resolution, full frame rate video.
The 4Caster supports MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC/H.264), Advanced Simple Profile (ASP), and Simple Profile (SP) video encoding and MPEG-4 Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and Spectral Bandwidth Replication (SBR) tool. It features a front panel and Web-based remote management with SNMP support and has the ability to perform store and forward operations. The 4Caster also has a DVB-ASI output (4Caster Broadcast 3550 and 4550).
The 4Caster produces broadcast-quality video and creates a significant reduction in network bandwidth (satellite, ATM, broadband IP) compared to MPEG-2 encoding. It is designed specifically to operate over IP networks and has one encoding scheme for all playback devices (TV, PC, PDA, mobile phone), a compact rack-mount design, and MPEG-4 encoder upgradeability.
The 4Caster can be utilized in digital satellite news gathering, video contribution over IP and ATM networks, broadband IPTV distribution, cable TV, and direct broadcast satellite.
