Heil Sound offers cost-reduced version of PR20 microphone

Heil Sound has introduced the PR20 UT, a low-cost version of its PR20. Specifications and performance characteristics are identical to the PR 20, including wide frequency response, the ability to handle more than 140dB SPL, -35dB of rear rejection and natural articulation. The difference in the new model is a stripped-down packaging scheme aimed at putting the UT in a more accessible price range. The PR20 UT microphone is designed for live vocal and instrument applications as well as for serious recording studios or broadcast use.

The original PR20 remains both popular and available, according to the company. The full model includes such accessories as interchangeable gold, silver and black metal grille screens and a thick padded carrying case. The PR20 UT eliminates these, but retains the basic stand adapter, foam windscreen and zipper pouch.
