Harmonic Upgrades MAXLink
By TVTechnology published
At the Broadband Plus Show Dec. 3-6, Harmonic is debuting the MAXLink Plus, a 1550 nm broadcast transmitter that transmits signals over longer distances and increases the channel carrying capacity of cable and broadcast networks.
The MaxLink Plus product line includes the transmitter and an optional receiver. The Harmonic technology increases the CNR up to 6 dB, which either extends the network reach and maintains existing performance levels or increases the performance of an existing network link. Harmonic uses this as an appeal to operators to support more subscribers and reduce capital equipment and operating costs.
It supports a variety of network architectures in for HFC, including long-distance supertrunking and 1550-to-the node distribution and is 1 RU.
