EGT will demonstrate ALTO, its flagship H.264/MPEG-4 video processing platform at IBC2005.

ALTO allows operators to provide superior quality digital video at the low bit rates, improving bandwidth utilization by 50 percent and accelerating Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and other advanced applications.

The efficient design and upgradeability to HDTV encoding makes ALTO an ideal solution for operators looking to expand HD services to its customers.

ALTO offers two channels of H.264 encoding in a one-rack unit chassis. It has Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, integrated ProMPEG FEC (Forward Error Correction) and simultaneous ASI and IP output.
