Nyx Hemera Technologies has acquired Comlab Telecommunications and its Davicom division.

The buyer provides intelligent lighting control and management systems for critical infrastructure, including smart-city lighting control systems for road tunnels and underpasses. Comlab and Davicom sell automation and control products for broadcast and telecom sites. All are based in Quebec City, Canada.

Nyx Hemera and Comlab-Davicom will continue to operate separately. But John Ahern, president of Comlab-Davicom, plans to retire next spring.

“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the growth of both companies, as they possess highly complementary technological expertise; it will enable them to expand their engineering and product development capabilities while creating new opportunities for innovation in their current and future markets,” Nyx Hemera said in the announcement.

President Pierre Longtin was quoted, “The skills developed by Comlab/Davicom over the years in radio frequency electronics, antennas and telecommunications complement those of Nyx and give us access to new development opportunities.”

John Ahern told Radio World: “The company continues, the products continue, our support continues and the team continues. The main change is that I will be retiring after the spring NAB Show.”
