amaran has launched the amaran Cam, with a unique Auto Lighting feature.
Designed to provide content creators and live streamers, the webcam combines 4K60 image quality with what the company said is a first-of-its-kind Auto Lighting facility. The feature uses what the camera sees to automatically adjust connected amaran lights, aiming to remove the guesswork from balancing camera and lighting settings.
Integrating the webcam with compatible lights through the amara Desktop App, Auto Lighting analyses the exposure on the creator’s face, automatically adjusting lighting for a camera-ready result in 10 seconds, said the company, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
Commenting, Tiffany Cheng, global product marketing manager at amaran, said, “Lighting is where amaran started, but our goal has always been to make creating easier. As we’ve expanded into tools that support more of the creative process, we’ve focused on how they can work together as part of a more connected ecosystem, rather than simply operating alongside one another.
"The amaran Cam marks an important step toward that vision by introducing visual feedback, connecting what creators see on camera with the lights that shape their environment," Cheng added. "Auto Lighting is the first example of what’s possible as we bring lighting, audio, imaging, and software together, allowing creators’ setups to start doing more of the thinking for them.”
Pairing 4K capture at up to 60fps with a large 1/1.3” sensor and wide f/1.68 aperture, the webcam aims to maintain fine feature clarity and smooth movement, while delivering cleaner low-light images and natural background separation. Tuned across a wide range of skin tones, the solution aims to ensure creators look natural and balanced while delivering reliable color straight from the camera. Active cooling supports at least 72 hours of continuous operation at 4K60.

- 2× Lossless Zoom in 4K and Fast Autofocus: The amaran Cam lets creators continuously adjust from wider framing to tighter close-ups with 2× lossless zoom while maintaining full 4K resolution, highlighting finer details without sacrificing image clarity. Fast autofocus locks onto subjects in under 1/4 second with reduced focus hunting, helping keep faces and products clear as attention shifts.
- Multi-Cam and Native Vertical Video: Connect up to four amaran Cams for greater coverage across multiple angles, from a main view to overhead product shots, with quick switching between views. For vertical content, simply rotate the webcam to automatically switch to native 9:16 output at up to 4K60, without cropping or sacrificing image quality.
- Software Compatibility and Creative Controls: The amaran Cam works with major streaming, recording, and video conferencing platforms, including OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Twitch, Zoom, Teams, and more. Through the amaran Desktop App, creators can expand what’s possible with centralized control over camera settings and connected amaran lighting and audio, plus advanced creative features like Green Screen, Beauty, and Filters in Virtual Camera mode
