Simler Named CEO of Scopus Video Networks

Scopus Video Networks, a provider of digital video networking products, has appointed Dr. Yaron Simler as CEO. The appointment is part of a succession plan that became effective Jan. 1.
Simler succeeds David Mahlab, a co-founder of Scopus. Mahlab has been appointed the active chairman of the board. Simler will also continue to serve as a member of the board of directors.
"Yaron's immense knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the industry coupled with his acute business sense have enhanced Scopus Americas' growth," said Mahlab. "His intimate familiarity with the American and worldwide markets makes him the right person to lead our team into the future."
Simler has served as Scopus' president since August 2005. Previously, he was president of Harmonic's Convergent Systems Division. Simler received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and has offices in Princeton, N.J.
