Harris Broadcast Names Richard Scott VP for EMEA

Richard Scott, former senior vice president of systems and technology services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for systems integration giant Ascent Media, has been appointed vice president for the region by Harris Broadcast Communications.

At Ascent Media, Scott led the company’s expansion into the region. Prior to that, he spent five years as vice president and managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Pinnacle Systems, seven years as director at Sony Corp. and eight years as technical director at Panasonic.

“With more than 25 years in the industry, Richard has a superb record of accomplishments and extremely valuable experience in the EMEA region,” said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris. “This appointment underscores our commitment to positioning Harris as a global company that offers exceptional local support to broadcast customers in every area of the world. Richard’s well-established intimacy with the EMEA customer base will enable him to lead our expansion efforts in the region—armed with the new products and systems that our customers need to upgrade media operations for the digital and high-definition build-out.”

Scott received a BS in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom.
