GlobeCast has acquired new capacity on the Eurobird satellite for broadcast access to the Sky platform in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The two new muxes located on a 72MHz transponder, acquired through a deal with satellite operator ASTRA, will serve a growing number of broadcasters wishing to enter the dynamic U.K. satellite market and target 8 million Sky viewers.
GlobeCast offers a large range of services associated with its Eurobird platforms originating from its London Technical Operations Centre at Brookman’s Park. These services include GlobeCast’s proprietary content management solutions as well as multiplexing, uplink, satellite capacity, Sky EPG access and the possibility of interactive broadcasts.
