Scopus will demonstrate live side-by-side systems showing the benefits of its DVB-S2 solution in a digital satellite newsgathering (DSNG) environment during SATELLITE 2008, Feb. 25-28, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
A side-by-side comparison of DVB-S and DVB-S2 transmissions will show how with the same link parameters, DVB-S2 provides up to 30 percent bandwidth savings. In addition, the Scopus implementation offers support of higher-level codes and modulation, such as 16 APSK, enabling further bandwidth savings. This presentation also will demonstrate the advanced noise immunity characteristics of the Scopus DVB-S2 implementation.
The company will show the Scopus UE-9318, an MPEG encoder for DSNG applications featuring an integrated L-Band modulator. The encoder provides simultaneous MPEG-2 and H.264 encoding.
It also will highlight the IRD-2900 integrated receiver/decoder.
