Quantum Leaps Into Vegas With Video Data Storage Tools

Quantum Corp. will highlight its lineup of data storage products and accessories at NAB2007, including upgrades of its ProVideo A-Series of solutions.

The company's new SuperLoader 3A Autoloader can hold 16 tape cartridges and provides up to 4.8 TB of removable networked storage in a 2 RU chassis. Each 300 GB cartridge can hold more than six hours of 100 Mbps HD content and is accessible simply by navigating the file directories with any browser or FTP tool. MXF-aware capabilities permit videotape-like access to subclips by timecode.

Quantum will also highlight its ProVideo A-Series data tape drives. The system combines the well-established benefits of data tape archiving with videotape's convenience and accessibility. With a built-in Gigabit Ethernet port, A-Series drives are network-attached so they can be directly connected to any network and accessed by every edit workstation, networked server, and computer-based video device on the network.

Quantum also offers StorNext data management software for high-speed shared workflow operations and large-scale multitier archives. It offers high-performance heterogeneous access to shared pools of media and other digital assets and creates multitier storage archives, automatically moving data between different disk and tape resources to allow users to build highly scalable storage systems. It's designed to be platform independent, supports a wide range of server platforms, operating systems and storage types.

Quantum will be in booths SU13809 and SU15900-MR.
