NVISION to showcase large matrix routing

At NAB2008 (booth #SU11620), NVISION will introduce a new line of large-matrix multiformat routers based on a new technology platform that packs the functionality of four routers into a single frame. This is made possible by the use of ultra-high density connectors in user-reconfigurable frames.

The new NVISION router platform includes N-on-1 redundant crosspoints; rear passive connection schemes for 1.5Gb/s and 3Gb/s SDI signals; linear expansion for high-speed serial video routers; and full operational support for 1.5Gb/s and 3Gb/s digital data paths.

Customers can extend the router’s capabilities in the field without the use of splitters or combiners, managing up to 1152 x 1152 signals via a nonblocking architecture that provides access to any source from any destination in the facility.

Routers can be configured with video only, audio only, or a mixture of the two in the same frame, featuring multiformat support for HD/SDI, SD/SDI, and AES signals. Optical fiber connectivity provides support for demanding Plenum requirements and long signal runs.

The router’s linear expandability eliminates input fanouts and output secondary switching altogether. Field proven, internally integrated expansion circuitry removes termination problems of external splitters and combiners, resulting in greater system signal integrity.

High-density large matrices (576 x 1152 in 32RU) allow customers to maximize their available rack space and simplify their systems engineering. The architecture allows customers to fully exploit coaxial cable and avoid the higher cost and complexity of optical fiber.
