Five French OTA broadcasters adopt new generation Quantel systems
By TVTechnology published
All five of France’s free terrestrial channels have adopted new generation Quantel technology as a key component in their transition to multi-format, multi-resolution and HD production and broadcasting.
The first French broadcaster to adopt Quantel’s new equipment was the public-service network France 3. The broadcaster acquired an HD/multi-resolution Paintbox gQ for use in news production and close-to-air applications.
Arte, the Franco-German cultural channel, also opted for the multi-resolution Paintbox gQ. The arts-oriented channel is using the Paintbox for Arte’s “Thema” evenings.
M6, France’s youth-oriented terrestrial broadcaster, purchased an eQ for its on-air promotions, station identification department, and the station’s transition to HD.
Private channel TF1, France’s largest OTA terrestrial broadcaster, ordered a series of new systems, including two Paintbox gQs and three QPaintbox software packages for offline work.
