Apple Debuts 20-inch LCD; Lowers Prices on HD Displays

Apple has introduced the 20-inch Apple Cinema Display, a wide-format active-matrix LCD with 1690 x 1050 pixel resolution for $1,299, which complements the Power Mac G4 desktops. The company also reduced the price of its 23-inch Cinema HD display.

Targeting color work, the digital flat panel display is said to provide more work area than Apple's 22-inch Cinema Display. The 20-inch Cinema Display is less than two inches thick and has a wide format 16:10 aspect ratio design, which lets users view an 11-inch by 17-inch two page spread as well as illustrations or DVD's.

The 23-inch Cinema HD Display has 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and has dropped in price from $3,400 to $1,999.
