AmberFin Launches New Version of iCR

AmberFin has made a new version of iCR, its flagship content mastering and transcoding software solution, available. iCR Version 4.5 makes file-based workflow more efficient and increases image quality, while reducing cost per deliverable.

With iCR’s latest architectural improvements, transcoding to multiple platforms is faster, so users are able to streamline and complete operations more quickly. iCR 4.5 also provides a suite of compression pre-processing algorithms, which optimize picture quality during the transcoding stage.

The latest version of iCR introduces:

  • • Native support for Avid DNxHD and Final Cut Pro
  • • Extended MXF capabilities
  • • Simultaneous ingest and transcoding
  • • Motion compensate SD frame rate conversion included as standard
  • • Enhanced pre-processing capabilities

iCR 4.5 also provides support for full range of P2 and XDCAM formats to enable tapeless workflows between content creation and distribution.

“As HD becomes increasingly prevalent, we are, more than ever, committed to ensuring that AmberFin customers are not only getting the best looking pictures on the market, but that our tools and processes enable them to be more profitable as distribution channels multiply and markets diversify,” said Bruce Devlin, chief technology officer of AmberFin.
