Flashlink Targets High-End Broadcast Market

(click thumbnail)Network Electronics AV-SD-XMUXNetwork Electronics, a fiber optical transport solutions provider, will be launching a complement to their Flashlink product line at NAB2007. The new AV-SD-XMUX audio embedder/de-embedder works on AES audio streams, up to four at a time or eight through a daisy-chain, while easing operations and reducing traditional inventory. It also includes optional interfaces for 1310nm, 1550nm or up to 16 CWDM wavelengths, and on-board signal generators.

The FR-2RU-DWDM-MUX40-C 40-channel dense wavelength division multiplexer and de-multiplexer reduces fiber costs while helping broadcasters maintain efficient levels of DWDM use. It features 0.5dB channel uniformity, Telcordia GR-1221 qualification, interoperability with standards-based DWDM systems and fits in a standard Flashlink frame. The EDFA-Booster and EDFA-Preamp provide all-optical, multichannel amplification, boosting fiber backhaul distances and the efficiency of DWDM infrastructures.

Features include signal and bit-rate transparency, safe key-lock operation, high-distance point-to-point HD-SDI transport without electrical regeneration and full C-band wavelength amplification according to ITU-T G.694.1. Network Electronics products have low power consumption and are compliant with WEEE and RoHS directives.
