Zaxcom Introduces TRX900AA Digital Wireless Microphone Transceiver

Zaxcom, Inc. announced that it has expanded its patent-pending wireless microphone transceiver family to include the new TRX900AA. The TRX900AA operates for up to 12 hours on just two AA batteries and provides integrated recording of up to 12 hours of audio. Designed for use in applications that require a lavaliere microphone, the new system simplifies remote production with built-in IFB support, timecode transmission, and RF remote control from up to 200 feet away.

"By providing extended battery life and recording time, we've designed a wireless microphone that's perfectly suited for reality television applications. Now, reality TV production teams can rely on our TRX900AA system to record audio that rivals that of hard-wired microphone, without concern for RF or EMI interference," said Glenn Sanders, president of Zaxcom. "Our RF remote control provides further peace of mind in reality TV applications where the production crew may need to make audio changes quickly without interfering with the talent or missing a minute of the action."

The TRX900AA records audio in the .WAV format directly to a Flash memory card for transfer to PC or Macintosh. Optional timecode transmission and video sync generation, a brand-new feature for the digital wireless microphone system, will allow the user to transmit two channels of audio, timecode, and video sync to just one receiver on the camera. Video sync types include tri-level, NTSC, and PAL. The TRX900AA features a built-in IFB receiver that allows the user to receive cues and other information from the production staff without an additional body pack.
