WWTV-TV Automates With Harris

CBS affiliate WWTV-TV has installed a Harris ADCT automated playout system at its Cadillac, Mich-based facility.

The system will be used for playout of both long form and interstitial material, commercial control and will be integrated with the station's existing scheduling and traffic systems.

"WWTV's longevity remains contingent on technology that can scale and accommodate our pursuit of new business models," said Bill Kring, general manager of WWTV. "Our decision to go with the ADC system was based on the product's price-performance ratio and confidence in the Harris brand."

The station operates 24 hours per day and produces five hours of local live news programming each day. It reaches 250,000 households.

The Harris ADC automation system is suited to small and medium market television broadcast operations and can control a complete range of external devices, including switchers and channel branding equipment. The system is supplied pre-configured and can be customized to add channels or accommodate additional equipment and the needs of the station change.
