WIFR, CBS Channel 23 and WQRF, Fox Channel 39 in Rockford Illinois have reached an agreement that will allow WIFR to place a temporary antenna on WQRF's tower. As reported last week, WIFR lost its tower in a severe storm July 5. An article by Mark Bieganski, WIFR to establish 50-mile signal in Friday's Rockford Register Star quoted WIFR GM Greg Gaber saying the transmitter arrived Friday and expressing confidence the antenna would be up this weekend, even though it had not yet arrived. The article said the replacement tower for WIFR could be erected as soon as October.
