TV-Anytime Forum, AAF Association and Pro-MPEG Forum collaborate on metadata interoperability at NAB2003

The TV-Anytime Forum along with the Pro-MPEG Forum and the Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) Association will run an Interoperability Center at NAB2003. The Interoperability Center is located in Meeting Room S230. It is near the front of the Upper South Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

The TVAF exhibit at NAB2003 consists of two demonstration units in the Interoperability Center. One unit is dedicated to demonstrating metadata authoring, editing, aggregation and publishing, and the other unit will demonstrate the viewer experience that is provided by using metadata to segment content. The primary TVAF members involved in the demonstrations are the BBC, NDS, onTV, and Philips. In addition, it is hoped to have metadata feeds to the metadata authoring demonstration from NOB (Europe), NTT (Asia), and Tribune Media Services (US.)

In addition to the TVAF demonstrations at NAB2003, there is a conference session from 14:00 to 17:00 on Monday, 7 April called "The PVR: Shifting Time and Paradigm" at which there will be presentations from TVAF members: BBC, ContentGuard, Microsoft, Motorola, NDS, as well as a presentation regarding the TVAF demonstrations in the Interoperability Center. This PVR session is part of the NAB Multimedia World Conference. Also at NAB2003, the EBU’s Jean-Pierre Evain is giving a presentation on TV-Anytime as part of the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference. There will be a press conference in the Interoperability Center in which the TVAF will participate in the evening on Tuesday, 8 April, 2003.
