Turner Broadcasting Selects Nvision for TNT HD

Turner Broadcasting System Inc. (TBS), a TimeWarner company, has selected Nvision's NV5128-MC multichannel master control switcher for its Network Operations HD facility.

The TBS project required the ability to handle HD video, 5.1 surround sound, plus stereo, SAP and DVS. With the NV5128-MC, which combines digital master control and multiformat routing in the same frame, Nvision addressed all the requirements and provided a complete audio system, along with a full complement of HD video features. Standard features of the NV5128-MC include A/B mixing with full auto transition control, multi-level video keying, logo store, "squeezeback" effects generator, audio over mixer, and optional built-in Dolby-E decoding.

"Our business is moving pictures and sounds around, perfectly, so it's a real thrill to do so for TNT HD. The experience of great teamwork with a customer like TBS Network Operations is always a bonus. They developed a solid HD working model that can be replicated and we responded with a unique configuration of Master Control -- both switching and routing -- to meet their HD video and audio challenges," said Chuck Meyer, president of Nvision.

Grass Valley, Calif.-based Nvision, provides routing and master control systems for use in TV broadcast and post production.
