Thomson has bought Pacifica Media Affiliates, the parent company of several Los Angeles-based audio editorial and mixing facilities, to expands its Technicolor Entertainment Services' post production area and its Digital Media Solutions customer base.
Technicolor Creative Services, the post production arm of Technicolor Entertainment Services, will now oversee Echo Sound Services, Weddington Productions, Digital Sound Works and Pacifica Sound Group in its Sound Services division, composed of the former Complete Sound, Vidfilm International Digital's audio division and Miles o' Fun.
Altogether, the facilities have won two Academy Awards, 12 Emmys and a number of MPSE Golden Reel Awards. Other feature titles include "Traffic," "Erin Brockovich," and "The Lion King."
"This strategic acquisition broadens ... the scope of our audio offerings for the film, broadcast and gaming production communities," said Technicolor Creative Services president Bob Beitcher.
