Belo's Texas Cable News (TXCN), a 24 hour cable news channel has purchased Media 100's 844/X real-time vertical editing system to cut production time of breaking news, facilitate last-minute edits, and deliver higher quality promos and spots.
Sean Walkup, TXCN Creative Services' Post Production Editor cited the 844/X's speed and ability to do simultaneous editing and real time compositing among the main reasons TXCN chose the system. "This system lets us put a stop to endless hours of rendering and get on with the way we really want to work," Walkup said.
The 844/X add-on, XBLUR, allows TXCN to create Gaussian Blur cinematic-style camera effects. "By maximizing the real-time and 10-bit quality aspects of 844/X with XBLUR, I can make video news material look that much better in a flash," Walkup commented.
