The FCC announced July 16 that the FCC Enforcement Bureau changed the name of its Technical and Public Safety Division to the "Spectrum Enforcement Division." The Spectrum Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcement and support for Field Office enforcement efforts in areas including unauthorized construction and operation, interference, equipment requirements, 911 and E911, radio tower lighting. It also operates the Enforcement Bureau's high frequency direction-finding facilities. Public Safety Spectrum Trust Corp. Awarded Public Safety Broadband License
PSBL responsibilities include promotion of the broadband spectrum needs of public safety entities, negotiation the service agreement with the D Block auction winner, administration of access to the 700 MHz public safety broadband network, assessment of usage fees, and approval of equipment and applications used by public safety entities.
