Sundance Digital Partners With DNF Controls

Broadcast automation company Sundance Digital now offers DNF Control's SW2x1 RS422 A/B switch as a standard option for its Titan and Fastbreak NXT automation systems.

Sundance Digital said DNF's SW2x1 switching component has enabled the company to further tailor the Titan and Fastbreak systems to address customer concerns with mission-critical operations or multichannel broadcasts. Customers who select the SW2x1 component in their automation systems receive an added measure of redundancy for maintaining control over broadcast devices such as video servers, switchers, routers, branding devices, character generators, and logo insertion systems, according to Sundance.

The SW2x1 integrates directly with the SIDON (Sundance Integrated Device Operating Network) component in the Titan and Fastbreak system architectures. Each SW2x1 provides two RS422 inputs and one RS422 output that allow users to switch from on-air automation system to backup control system at the press of a button or a GPI trigger. The product is fully scalable, allowing Sundance Digital to customize its redundancy option per the customer's needs.

"With the integration of our SW2x1 switch into Sundance's Titan and Fastbreak products, we've created an easily scaleable redundancy option for automatically controlling peripheral devices," said DNF Controls President Dan Fogel. "In a broadcast setting where networks are increasingly running high-profile, multichannel operations with reduced staffing, the availability of this type of system is more crucial than ever."
