Emmy Award-winner Stanley Chayka was appointed vice president of engineering for Sigma Electronics.
"He brings unparalleled experience in a variety of engineering disciplines, and a breadth of expertise especially in the area of video processing," said Bill Swilley, president of Sigma Electronics, based in East Petersburg, Pa.
Prior to joining Sigma, Chayka--who holds more than 16 color correction-related patents--was vice president of engineering for Nuwave Technology, where he developed mixed-signal ASICs and consumer products.
Chayka also previously served as vice president and president of ColorVision, where he helped bring to market several color correction systems such as Copernicus, System XL and Sunburst, among others.
After Ascent Media acquired ColorVision, Chayka headed the research-and-development division. Projects included Trax'im, a digital image segmentation and tracking system, an HD version of the Copernicus color correction system and SuperSoft, a virtual control center for postproduction color correction systems.
