RTBF Secures Data With FalconStor

The Walloon public-service broadcaster has implemented a FalconStor Software network storage server (NSS) to handle its storage-consolidation and data-protection needs.

The deployment helped Radio-Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) consolidate data from seven remote sites to just two sites.

Each of the two sits hosts an NSS appliance that interacts with its counterpart via Fibre Channel for synchronous mirroring of data and failover protection. The total storage capacity is 32 TB on four EMC CLARiiON units.

"One of the most important capabilities of the FalconStor NSS solution is that it gives us the ability to rapidly and easily switch from one site to the other or from one storage subsystem to the other on a single site," stated RTBF Systems Engineer Christian Neybuch. "It gives us complete flexibility, while reducing the number of databases we need to consolidate our data storage in only two sites."
