Roberts Broadcasting has signed SES Americom to provide its SignalSAT service to share syndicated and network programming across UPN affiliates.
The programming originates from WRBU-TV in St. Louis, from where it is distributed via satellite to Columbia, S.C. viewers tuned in to WRBJ-TV and soon to WRBJ-TV in Jackson, Miss. The SignalSAT service offers 3 MHz digital signals, using C-Band or Ku-Band bandwidth.
Additionally, the service enables broadcasters to consolidate delivery requirements, whether they need to send the signal to off-air repeaters, cable headends or DBS uplink sites to maximize market reach, according to Carl Capista, vice president of North American media services, SES Americom.
