Panasonic's new graphic processor to ship in the fall

Panasonic's AV-CGP500 is a multi-format real-time graphics processor, designed for on-air sports/live graphics, virtual set, and computer generated (CG) character applications.

The HD/SD graphics system offers real-time rendering of broadcast quality graphics for 1080i and 480i video; rendering of 720p/60 and 1080/24p HD graphics is optional. The system was developed with vizrt.

The AV-CGP500 is a PC-based system with a 2 RU size external graphics unit. It offers a real-time rendering performance available with 40,000 polygons per field, 533M pixels per second fill rate, and a 1GB texture memory size.

The AV-CGP500 will be available in this fall.
