Panasonic-powered sports arenas get new tech infusion

Panasonic and AEG have entered into a long-term, multitiered sponsorship agreement, making Panasonic one of eight “founding partners” of L.A. LIVE, the AEG owned and operated sports, entertainment and residential district in downtown Los Angeles. The new L.A. LIVE includes the Nokia Theater, Club Nokia, Nokia Plaza, the Grammy Live Museum, Regal Cinemas and The Ritz-Carlton and J.W. Marriott hotels. The agreement also names Panasonic as a “founding partner” (one of 10) of Staples Center, also owned by AEG, beginning in August 2009.

The agreement will benefit sports and entertainment fans that will attend events at the “Panasonic-powered properties” by enabling a broad infusion of Panasonic technologies. Among them will be broadcast and TV production systems including P2 solid-state camcorders, camera systems, production monitors, mixers and switchers and other technologies (such as the HD remote head camera system that can be mounted virtually anywhere and still provide the highest picture quality).

In addition to the use of broadcast and TV production systems and other Panasonic technologies, the new business agreement includes extensive cross-sponsorship opportunities as well as product integration for Panasonic within AEG owned or promoted properties and assets within North America.
