Modulus Video demos compact HD/SD MPEG-4 AVC encoders

Modulus Video has begun demonstrating its new ME2000 compact family of MPEG-4 AVC encoders.

Billed the world's first one rack unit multiformat encoding platform, the ME2000 series expands Modulus Video's line of AVC encoders with a system that can be switched via a software control between standard and high-definition video outputs.

The ME2000 platform, shown last week at GlobalComm 2006 in Chicago, shares the features of the Modulus Video ME6000, an HD IPTV encoding system. Those features include low-resolution proxy for program guide, monitoring and Microsoft TV Picture in Picture (PIP); support for ad insertion triggers to streamline revenue generating operations; and interoperability with leading systems management tools

A Constrained Fidelity Constant Bit Rate (CF-CBR) feature ensures delivery of high-quality HD at the lowest possible bit rates. Availability of all configurations is expected this summer.
