Microsoft wants to make the TV white space spectrum available for unlicensed use. Such a policy would help rural America achieve wider broadband deployment, a Microsoft executive told Congress last week.
Craig Mundie, Microsoft’s CTO, endorsed bills that would make TV white space spectrum available to unlicensed users. Terrestrial television broadcasters have been fighting a similar proposal pending at the FCC.
