March Madness on DIRECTV and CSTV
By TVTechnology published
A new deal reached with CBS Sports will allow DIRECTV to carry out-of-market games during the NCAA men's college basketball tournament. As part of the multiyear deal, the nation's largest satellite broadcaster will continue to sell its NCAA Mega March Madness package, which offers up to 37 out-of-market broadcasts produced by CBS during the first three rounds of the annual tournament.
The deal also means that the network's College Sports TV (CSTV) network will be available to more than 8 million DIRECTV customers, and 20 million total — including cable.
DIRECTV is also close to an agreement with the MLB that would give it exclusive rights to American and National League baseball games out-of-market.
