Leitch's Neo makes signal processing easy

For broadcast, production and post facilities requiring high-quality signal processing and analog-to-digital (or digital-to-analog) conversion in a small package, Leitch has introduced the NEO single-module Simplicity product line.

NEO products offer an architecture that accommodates routing, distribution and clock and signal reference products, along with a range of interface, conversion, synchronization and compression solutions in a minimal amount of space.

Addressing most analog, digital, standard-definition and high- definition applications, NEO products offer an architecture that accommodates routing, distribution and clock and signal reference products, along with a range of interface, conversion, synchronization and compression solutions in a minimal amount of space.

The DAS-3901, for example, provides high-quality conversion and processing for analog video and audio signals. Included is a 12-bit color decoder with a full-frame synchronizer and video levels controls. A processed analog video monitoring output can be “jumper selected” on one of the SDI outputs. Four-channel analog audio is converted by 16, 20 or 24-bit processing and can be output as balanced or unbalanced AES digital audio. Processing controls for gain, invert, swap, delay and summing with multiplexing into the SDI output are also provided.

Also designed for analog infrastructures, the AVM-3901-A provides a SDI frame sync with four-channel analog audio processing, synchronization, delay and multiplexing.

For those working in digital, the AVS-3901 provides frame synchronization for SDI video and audio synchronization/delay and processing for two AES streams. Audio processing controls for gain, invert, swap and delay are provided.

Leitch offers two versions of the AVM-3901 that add multiplexing capability to the video frame sync and audio synchronizer/delay. One version provides two AES inputs with processing and multiplexing with two AES processed outputs. The other version provides four AES inputs with processing and multiplexing.

NEO also allows for worldwide control and monitoring, to meet all operational and monitoring needs. Products can be controlled from the card edge, a control panel mounted on the frame, or a remote, rack-mountable control panel, as well as over Ethernet using Pilot Navigator third-party control software. Any NEO product can be plugged into a frame and immediately controlled from the card edge using an intuitive control interface. On the control network, new products can be automatically discovered and made available to users running Pilot or from control panels.
