Japanese TV Broadcaster Airs Baseball in SRS Circle Surround

Japanese broadcaster Mainichi Broadcasting System recently produced a live broadcast using the SRS Circle Surround 5.1 technology.

The TV broadcaster aired a baseball game from Koshien Stadium in Japan via 28 stations of the Tokyo Broadcasting System. A logo was displayed on screen informing viewers that they were seeing a game with SRS Circle Surround.

SRS claims a higher profile in the U.S., as well, as the U.S. radio industry considers whether and how to implement surround via digital radio. The company says more than 500 million television viewers have experienced
Circle Surround, and more than 300,000 DVDs and CDs include the technology.
