Carl R. Stevenson, president and CTO of WK3C Wireless has been elected to the IEEE Standards Association's Board of Governors for a two-year term beginning in 2006. The IEEE-SA BOG provides industry standards and standards-related products and services.
Stevenson--who has been involved in design and development of RF communications system for more than 35 years--also recently received the 2005 IEEE Standards Association International Award, which is presented annually to an IEEE-SA member for extraordinary contributions to the advanced of the international goals of the engineering organization.
Stevenson also was named a "Policy Leader" for contributions to the development of better wireless networking standards on the 2005 "Scientific American 50," the magazine's annual list recognizing outstanding leadership in science and technology.
