Harris Vet Joins Front Porch Digital

Broadcast archive management company Front Porch Digital has appointed Brian Lay as vice president of product management.

Lay's responsibilities include engaging in customer, partner, and market analysis; establishing an ongoing process for gathering competitive intelligence; and overseeing of product sales and marketing strategies. The company said he would also be working in collaboration with the chief technology officer and vice president of development to manage the life cycle for new products. Lay reports directly to Front Porch Digital President and CEO Mike Knaisch.

"His experience, insight, and proven product management abilities afforded (Lay) many choices among potential employers," said Knaisch. "Our ability to attract his kind of talent will allow Front Porch Digital to continue to strengthen our position as the global leader in broadcast archive management."

Lay has 35 years of experience working in the professional broadcast field. He most recently served as director of strategic marketing at Harris Automation Solutions. Prior to his tenure at Harris, Lay was director of engineering and operations at Seattle's KING-TV, an NBC affiliate station with two on-air channels and Northwest Cable News, a 24-hour news service. He also held engineering roles at WHDH-TV in Boston and at WGBY-TV in Springfield, Mass.

Lay has also served as manager of the Boston and Seattle chapters of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers during his 20-year society membership.
