GoldPocket goes wireless with interactive TV gaming


The first deployment of EM Mobile Matrix will feature Game Show Network iTV programming on Qualcomm's BREW platform for Verizon's wireless phone service in the second quarter of this year.

GoldPocket Interactive, a provider of interactive television (iTV) technology and services, has announced its new EM Mobile Matrix, an interactive and synchronous multi-player wireless gaming system.

By integrating with GoldPocket's EventMatrix system, EM Mobile Matrix provides synchronization with broadcast content, two-way interactivity, and real-time data aggregation. The platform also enables multi-player capabilities, which were previously only available on personal computers or game consoles.

The first deployment of EM Mobile Matrix will feature Game Show Network iTV programming on Qualcomm's BREW platform for Verizon's wireless phone service in the second quarter of this year. After that, the company said, the technololgy will be rolled out on Sun Microsystems' Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME).

GoldPocket said it has delivered more than 4,000 hours of nationwide interactive television programming.
