Game Creek Video Uses Grass Valley Switchers to Cover Super Bowl

New Hampshire-based Game Creek Video, the mobile production company brought in by Fox Sports to cover Super Bowl XLII in high-definition used multiple Thomson Grass Valley video production switchers to cover the Feb. 3 championship game.

Six Game Creek HD trucks were on site in Glendale, Ariz., and there were an additional three deployed to Scottsdale, Ariz. Four of these trucks had either Thomson Grass Valley Kalypso or Kayak high-definition switchers aboard. Main game action was captured by more than 25 Sony HD cameras (see related story) and these were switched with a 4 M/E Kalypso model. The Kayak switcher served as a sub-switcher for handling replays. Still other Kalypso/Kayak switchers were involved in covering pre- and post-game activities and highlights, as well as in production of video from the halftime show.

Game Creek originated the HD content in 720p.
