Fox Video Services selects For-A HD switcher

Twentieth Century Fox Video Services has upgraded its operations to HD, including the purchase of a For-A Hanabi HVS-1000HS HD video switcher.

As part of an upgrade to HD operations at its Century City, CA, facility, Twentieth Century Fox Video Services, the DVD and video operations division of Twentieth Century Fox, has purchased a Hanabi HVS-1000HS HD/SD video switcher from FOR-A.

Twentieth Century Fox Video Services provides editorial and telecine transfer services as well as duplication for PAL, NTSC and ATSC to support the business units of Twentieth Century Fox’s television and theatrical units. The HANABI HVS-1000 is a one M/E switcher that supports 1080i, 24p, 720p, and standard definition formats. It will be used in the company’s linear editing bay, in tandem with a Sony BVE-9100 edit controller.

One DVE card comes pre-installed on the HVS-1000HS. An additional (optional) DVE card can be installed for increased flexibility on both the SD and HD sides. On the SD side this increases the capacity to two channels of DVE from each card. On the HD side, an optional DVE card provides one DVE channel.
