Echolab Overture2 selected to produce HD programs for World Prophetic Ministry

In an effort to create more compelling programming to spread its message, the World Prophetic Ministry (WPM), located in Colton, CA, installed a new Echolab Overture2 SD/HD production switcher with Echolab’s Conductor control unit in an all-new HD facility located in what had been a 500-seat auditorium.

The WPM is using the Overture system to produce its weekly half-hour “The King is Coming” telecast, which has been viewed by millions worldwide during its more than 35 years on the air. The program carried on Trinity Broadcasting Network, The Inspirational Network, Christian Television Network, CTV, and a variety of independent stations.

At WPM, the Overture switches from among three Ikegami HDK-79EX111 cameras and allows real-time integration of digital playback from a Harris graphics system and an Ultimatte green-screen compositing device running an Orad virtual set system. “The King is Coming” is partially produced live-to-tape with some effects added in post. WPM also plans to open its facility to like-minded organizations that don't yet have HD capability, and the Overture's live production capacity will help to make that possible.

The Echolab Overture2 MD is a multidefinition switcher with a range of tools for producing stunning effects and high-quality programming. Internal up/crossconversion and frame sync enables the device to handle signals, including analog and SD signals, from a variety of sources with no need for additional equipment or cards. As a result, the Overture supports streamlined, cost-effective production operations.

Valley Broadcast Systems of Burbank, CA, provided system design, engineering and integration services for WPM’s new HD facility.
