Dolby Laboratories Rings in IPO

Dolby Laboratories celebrated its initial public offering on Thursday by ringing The Opening and Closing bell in surround sound.

Chairman Ray Dolby rang The Opening Bell and President/CEO Bill Jasper rang The Closing Bell.

News watchers with Dolby Pro Logic II-equipped home theater systems heard the resounding bells from stations delivering the feed with Dolby Pro Logic II audio. Dolby engineers created a dramatic Closing bell remix which was added to the traditional bell sound.
Those without the home theatre systems will heard the bells as normally.

The company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange Feb. 17 under the ticker symbol "DLB."
