DirecTV Selects Leitch's Videotek VTM-450E HD/SD Multi-format On-Screen Test Instruments for its HD Expansion Project

DirecTV has selected Leitch's Videotek VTM-450E HD/SD multi-format on-screen test instruments and VSG-204D serial digital sync generators as integral components in their multi-year HD expansion project at DirecTV broadcast centers in Los Angeles, and Castle Rock.

DirecTV, the nation's leading digital television service and the second largest multi-channel video program distributor in the United States based on the number of subscribers, has placed an initial order for more than 30 of the VTM-450E HD/SD models. The ongoing expansion is expected to require more than 70 units to provide monitoring of HD signals at each location.

The VTM-450E HD/SD is equipped with ACV-450E composite analog video inputs and model 8A Audio Option, which provides comprehensive audio level and phase measurements, Videotek's unique CineSound display, advanced alarm capability and Dolby Digital decoding and output.
