Dark, Cox Team Up (Again) to Produce HD comedy

Broadcasters and others who recall the "early days" of HDTV--much of the 1990s--may remember the names of two highly-regarded experts on HD production who used to work out of Dallas before trekking westward to Hollywood--Randall Dark and Kristen Cox. Among numerous other awards and achievements (albeit, it's still rather early in both their careers), each is a member of the CEA's Academy of Digital Pioneers.

Now Awkward Silence Productions, along with HD Vision Studios (Dark's house) and 16x9 Productions (Cox's house) are collaborating on a still-untitled Armen Kaprelian comedy motion picture about "real estate" that will be shot (of course) entirely in HD.

Executive producer Kaprelian has spent the past three years working on HGTV's "House Hunters." Dark will serve as the movie's executive producer in charge of HD acquisition and post production; Cox will produce it. Currently in pre-production, the feature will begin principal photography in mid-September using a Sony F-900 Cine Alta Camera. Post production of the project will be completed at Dark's HD Vision Studios in Los Angeles.
