CN8 to use Harris OSi-Traffic application

CN8, The Comcast Network, will implement the Harris OSi-Traffic application to manage its mission-critical operations.

CN8 reaches more than 9 million cable homes in 20 TV markets. It provides locally produced programming in four main areas, including live, interactive television, regional news, entertainment and coverage of high school, college and professional sports.

It will use the OSi-Traffic application to manage its real-time network and zone capabilities.

The multizone, multinetwork functions of the OSi-Traffic application will allow CN8 to deliver custom programming to its different zones. The scheduling component of OSi-Traffic will ensure that broadcast schedules need only to be entered one time and will immediately filter to all zones. The system provides each zone with the ability to override the network log at anytime to accommodate local spot insertion. This will enable CN8 to further streamline its operations, eliminate redundant data-entry of information and increase revenue by maximizing station inventory.
